The Story of Alexandre Family Farm

The Story of Alexandre Family Farm

In the picturesque landscape where California's majestic redwoods meet the Pacific Ocean, sits Alexandre Family Farm. For over thirty years, Blake and Stephanie Alexandre have been tending to their land the old-fashioned way, with care and respect for nature. Back in 1992, they settled on a beautiful piece of farmland in Del Norte County, not knowing their small beginning would grow into something exceptional.

The Story of Alexandre Family Farm

Blake and Stephanie are not newcomers to farming. The soil runs deep in their roots as fourth-generation farmers who wanted to embrace the methods their grandparents used. In the late 1990s, they took a leap of faith and switched to organic farming, becoming just the ninth certified-organic dairy in all of California by 2001. For them, it is about working hand-in-hand with nature, letting their cows graze on green grass year-round.

These days, the Alexandre family's herd doesn't consist of just typical black and white cows. Over the years, they have carefully bred their herd so it produces something unique. Unlike most conventional milk that contains a mix of A1 and A2 proteins, the milk from Alexandre Family Farm contains only the A2 beta-casein protein. Folks who have had trouble digesting regular milk often find they can enjoy the A2/A2 milk without any stomach discomfort or issues.

Their colorful herd is quite the sight to see. It is a thoughtful mix of New Zealand Kiwi Cross and Ayrshire, German Fleckvieh, Dutch Holstein, and Danish Jersey cattle. These sturdy cows with strong legs are perfect for wandering the pastures all day long in Alexandres' careful rotation system.

This way of farming doesn't just make for good milk, it heals the earth beneath their hooves. As the cows nibble the grass, the roots below ground cycle through life, feeding tiny organisms that build up the soil and lock away carbon.

When you pour yourself a glass of Alexandre Family Farm's A2/A2 organic milk, you are getting more than just a drink or companion to your morning cereal. You are contributing to a family story about farming that cares for the land and animals alike, and passing on something good to future generations.
