With the holidays just around the corner, you'll likely find that your calendar is filling up quickly. Whether it's a family gathering, an ugly sweater party, an office potluck, or friends coming into town, the season is filled with festivities. When you don't want to show up empty-handed, and you don't want to spend all day in the kitchen, we've got you covered! These appetizers are easy, require only a few ingredients, can be put together last minute and will definitely be popular at parties. We like to keep some of these items on hand for any last-minute events that may pop up, or for surprise guests that may pop in.
Spinach Flatbread, Mint Yogurt & Sundried Tomato Pesto
This trio from Bolani is absolutely delightful. In fact, this is the exact combination that they give out as samples at the farmers market to win over customers (and it works!). Simply heat up the spinach-filled flatbread, slice into bite-sized pieces, and top with a dollop each of the cool garlic mint yogurt and the flavor-packed sundried tomato pesto. This delicious small bite is perfect for parties and requires almost no prep time.
Cult Crackers & Tomato Pesto Torta
For absolutely no prep work, add these thick and hearty Cult crackers to your farm box along with this layered tomato, pesto and Fromage blanc dip to spread over them. This duo is undeniably delicious.Baked Brie with Fig Jam
Who doesn't love bread and cheese? The best part about this irresistible appetizer is that even though it seems fancy, it is super simple to make. Just thaw your puff pastry, place the wheel of brie in the center, spread a few spoonfuls of jam on top of the brie (about 1/4 cup), then wrap the puff pastry around the brie cheese like a present. Bake on a baking sheet or pie tin in the oven at 400 degrees for around 30 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown, then let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving alone or with your favorite crackers.
Crackers with Goat Cheese & Date Syrup
This appetizer is a tad on the sweeter side. Spread the vanilla bean and brown sugar goat cheese from Cypress Grove over these cherry and cocoa nib crackers and drizzle with just a touch of date syrup for a not-too-sweet finish. This is a great addition to any cheese plate!
Cream Cheese & Pepper Jelly
Thick and rich cream cheese will perfectly complement this hot pepper jelly from our own family farm. Spread it on any of your favorite crackers. We particularly love these sea salt and olive oil sourdough crisps from Boudin Sourdough.
Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Bacon
This sweet and salty classic is perfect for an easily passed appetizer. Cut a slit into the date and stuff with a small piece of blue cheese. Wrap the date with a half slice of bacon and bake at 375 degrees for 20 - 30 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked through. Skewer each date with a toothpick and place it on a platter for a dish that will wow at your next holiday get-together.
Goat Cheese, Fig and Prosciutto Bruschetta
This seasonal take on bruschetta is sure to be a crowd-pleaser and can be made in under 20 minutes. Slice your baguette, brush the slices with olive oil, and bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Then layer on some goat cheese, a spoonful of fig jam, and a piece of prosciutto. To really take this easy appetizer to the next level, drizzle just a few drops of fig balsamic vinegar over the top.
Chips & Dip
When you're in a pinch, you just can't go wrong with chips, salsa, and guacamole. (Besides, a party that's too fancy for chips and dip is a party we don't want to go to.) Party-goers won't even mind that your dish isn't homemade when they taste this unique and addicting salsa made from Alaskan kelp (yes, like sea kelp!). In fact, even if you don't have a party to attend, you may just want to add this fun snack to your farm box all for yourself! How To Add Farm Stand Products to Your Delivery:
